Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 1 February 2026. This is a demonstration project; the text below describes the terms such a community platform would publish.
Membership
Accounts are for individuals or a named studio, and you are responsible for activity carried out under yours. One person, one account.
You must be at least sixteen years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to publish work here.
Your work and your rights
You retain full copyright in everything you publish. Nothing here transfers ownership of your photographs.
By publishing, you grant Frames and Moments a non-exclusive, revocable licence to display your work on the platform, and — with your prior consent — in editorial features, collections, and social posts that credit you by name.
You may withdraw a frame at any time. Withdrawing it ends the licence for future use, subject to a short period for caches and already-printed material.
What you may publish
Only photographs you made, or where you hold the necessary rights and releases. Credit collaborators, and obtain consent where the subject would reasonably expect it.
No work that infringes copyright, depicts minors inappropriately, promotes hatred or violence, or misrepresents synthetic images as documentary photography. Generated imagery must be labelled as such.
Community conduct
Critique the picture, not the person. Harassment, targeted abuse, and vote manipulation in challenges result in removal without appeal.
Challenges
Submissions must be made within the stated period and satisfy the brief. Judges' decisions are final. Entering grants us the right to display shortlisted frames in the related collection with credit.
Availability and liability
The platform is provided as it stands. We work hard to keep it available and your files safe, but we do not warrant uninterrupted service, and we recommend keeping your own masters and backups.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, and will explain why except where doing so would compromise a safety investigation.
Changes
We announce material changes on the platform at least fourteen days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
